Stencil Icon

My stencil was inspired by a hopefully iconic symbol named the "refinanswer" that my father and I created several years ago to encompass the union of a question mark and a dollar sign to signify the power and creative worth of thought itself. It is a symbol of thought that expresses the value of thought. To my father and I it signifies an artistic intercourse that promotes the coupling of words and pictures in the service of story. We hope the image invites and inspires others to enhance words graphically as they tell what the value of thought means to them in personal stories or original ideas. Not only does this symbol have a personal significance because of the creative union with my father but because of what we hope it will achieve on a greater scale of intellectual proliferation and as an artistic community of others wishing to make an imaginative impact. Like a prophetic crook leading both of our lives the refinanswer impacted us for the best because of its constant reminder to encourage alternative combinations and vantage points for examining ideas. Our only hope is that its simplicity and intrigue may have the same exaltation for others.
