         Laura Lopez was a guest speaker for one of our classes. She shares many stories about her childhood and her parents. From the beginning of her inspiration which was her mother working as a domestic worker. Many time she use go with her mother to work and in those moments was when her imagination flourish to mix her moms works with that of a double agent from spy movies. Her painting show many sides of this agents which she called double agent servienta. Laura saw this Double agent Servieta  may be practiced by spies of the target organization who infiltrate the controlling organization in this case she will infiltrate to peoples house as a Servieta and will know all the secrets.

         This paintings empower women works  and it gives them a turn into action and importance as those of a super heroes like Super Women. I love the way she puts her beginning as a child as the main influence to her painting like her parents. Her dad was in the military and often he will have secret task that only he knew and couldn’t talk about and he mom was the housemaid of I will said rich people. This two people in her life gave life to Double Agent Sirvienta . From reading and the study in Blakes book this character empowers women and all those who work as a housemaid.

         I picked the painting of her with the baby and running I was impacted by the colors and the technique. One thing that caught me attention and made me think was the use of babies who were white she envisions the truth of migrates coming to the U.S to work for wealthy white families. As I imagine many immigrants can identify themselves with the paintings and be influences by the creation and art of Laura Lopez.
