Week 8: Isis Rodriguez

It is week 8 and we are closer to the end. This week we covered more artists. Like mentioned already, the image that I found the most interesting came from the artists, Isis Rodriguez. The image is titled "Evolution" and it highly captured my attention based on the way the woman is portrayed by the end of image. I feel that in society today are seen as a sexual object not just by men but by other women themselves and by the rest of society. Men will always find the women figure to be similar to the one in the image; very sexy with the women looking sultry and desired. Women today want this attention from men and from the rest of society hence all the "selfies" and how less has become more in terms of women's clothing. For society, women have always been just an object. Based on historical analysis, women were more respected in the early days. They were as powerful as men and were valued. Today, women have evolved into more than just objects, but to me, this image says that there are still some barriers that women still face in today's society. Human bodies have evolved so, I think the perception of women needs to evolve into a greater one that we could be proud of.
