Hirugami, Erika

I am the Founder and CEO of CuratorLove. After being a Public Art Curator for the Department of Cultural Affairs in the City of Los Angeles, I was the Curatorial Director for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Curatorial Director for The KNOW Contemporary. As a Getty Foundation Scholar and a Kress Foundation Fellow, I have worked at many museums and galleries across the United States and Mexico, and been published internationally.
I have an MA in Art Business from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, in conjunction with the Drucker School of Management and Getty Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University. As well as multiple BAs from UCLA in the fields of Art History, Chicano Studies, and Mexican Studies. I am currently a 1st year Ph.D. Student at the Chicana/o Department at UCLA, and my research focuses on the convergence of transnational aesthetics with a special focus on undocumented Mexican experiences.
Here I am at the Hammer Museum being one of the "Tres Marias" as conceptualized by Chicana Artist Judy Baca
(This artwork is part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum in DC).
