In this interview with VoyageLA from March 2019, Carlino talks about how she began her path as an artist. Although she did not follow a linear path to get to where she is, she describes how working at Trader Joe's played an important role in helping her rediscover her artistic talent and passion for art. Her art depicts many ethnic attributes which resemble her Chicana roots. In doing so she aims to promote self-love. The art she creates serve as tools to help her become her best self and in turn help other women do the same.
