Becerra, Alejandra

Hello, my name is Alejandra Becerra, I was born on february 23, 1996 in Oxnard, California. I really like nature and animals because I think it is the first expression of art. I am interested in conservation and strive to one day inform my community about human's environmetal impact. I am also interested in the health field because i believe people need to be provided with quality healthcare. I would one day like to travel across the United States helping people by giving them infomation about health issues and sustainable living. I have always had an intrest in animals and the environment. I remember waking up ealry to watch pbs documetaries about animals and watching the wildthornberrys thinking that I wanted to go on adventures like them. I have always kept this adventurous spirit alive, consequently, I decided to take this class despite my horrible art skills.
Some of my other future aspirations are to improve my Spanish vocabulary, continue learning French, and to one day have a golden retriever or anything fluffy to be honest. I also want to learn how to play an instrument, fix cars, martial arts , and how to garden.
This week's articles examined the traditional roles of women and how the changed over time. The  changes granted by economic moblilty allowed women to produce art because they were no longer dpendent on male counterparts. In the Venegas reading she examines how Chicanas experienced mobility in the arts due their new found economic source in the 1970s.
