Lilian Navarro stood out to me from last weeks presentations. Her work is strong, colorful, and emotional. In her pieces she captivated the personalities and attitudes of so many different women. She uses Chicano culture, religion, and the average women through modern lens. I know the artist is very young compared to many of the other women we have studied through out the course. I think this is why she stuck with me so much. She uses women in the center of her work to depicts strength and femininity. Although much of her work is focused on brown girls, and I am white, I still felt a unified power when learning about her.
