Raquachismo is an art style in which the irreverent and spontaneous are employed to make the most from the least. Discarded pieces were employed as they signified the everyday life and the capacity to hold life together using these discarded pieces is at the heart of raquachismo. This style is undoubtedly modern as it is counter what we traditionally think as beauty or superior. They are no longer concerned about creating arts whose ultimate goals was to sell to the riches.
The message within the work is more important than the work itself. Rather what is valued, for rasquachismo artists, is the opposites of beauty and superior – the inferior. It is the broken and discarded everyday pieces that inspired these artists, becomes a vehicle for expression of both culture and identity. And their works are ideas transformed into a materialized form rather than an object injected with  superficial ideas. The work is no longer an aesthetics pleasing object made to sell to the riches.  Rather is a vehicle for self-expression and political advocation.
The expansion of a feminine rasquachismo as domesticana is an attempt to establish the sensibility arising from the struggle for identity, sexuality and power within Chicana domesticana. Adopt an opposite stance to the dominant culture, Rasquachismo critics the restrictive gender expectation within Chicano culture while expressing their rebellious attitude in their unique works. With collections of found objects that reminds the viewer of domestic life, it invites the viewers to see through their works using a female lens.
