Snow. Kendall (Kendall)

My name is Kendall Snow (she/her) and this is my final year at UCLA. I am a sociology major and transferred here last year from Saddleback community college. Topics that have interested me while taking classes here have been crime and topics involving the criminal justice system. When I graduate, I am hoping to get a certificate or a masters degree in Human Resources management because that is the career area I would like to go into. A course I enjoyed taking was Sociology of crime and an introduction course to computer research methods. I am from San Clemente, California and my favorite things to do in my free time are to go to the beach, do yoga, and travel. I also love trying and finding  new coffee places with my friends; my favorite coffee place is Zebra, but I usually do not get coffee. I get a matcha or a chai tea. My favorite place I have traveled is either Split, Croatia or Australia. I also have two dogs that are lab mixes.

When reading the article “¡Printing the Revolution! The Rise and Impact of Chicano Graphics, 1965 to Now", I thought of many things. First, I thought all of the artwork was very pretty and powerful. These are not just normal pieces of art, this art is made to send a message to those who look at it. The art shows what it means to be Chicano as the term has progressed throughout time. This art also relates to many social justice movements and portrays either what they are going through/experiencing or what is happening at that point in time. Some of this art is excluded from American Art, but these artists offer a new way to look at American history. They can also show social goals. This art is not limited to only Chicanos, but it shows the cross of all cultures.
