Carlotta Hernandez contributed to a great mural that resides in the Chicano park when it opened on April 20, 1970. In the mural called "Tierra Mia" she also payed a tribute to Aztlan because she realizes that we always have to pay tribute to who's land we are on. Carlotta was born on April 13, 1937 in San Diego. She was then raised in National City and Logan Heights. For her higher education she chose to study Mexican American studies and continued to her pursue her careers as being bilingual.
