Week 10 presentations

I enjoyed learning about all the artists and their artworks however the one I was interested in this week was Monica Aissa Martinez  and this is because I’m interested in color and in the works such as the human works in the website. And Majority of the works are pastel and the outer and the bones and the skin and the veins. And the works are portraits. The one that caught my attention was the Portrait of Carolyn. I was intrigued by this because of the fruits and there is a cat in the bottom as well. And then you see a bell and animals Also interesting how Martinez works dont have negative space. These works feel like your looking to some one thoughts, feelings and soul. The works show a spiritual connection to the earth and nature with the animals and the material and the food. There is alot of multiple colors and you can think there is a variety. Overall spiritually is something I find interesting when its evoked and paintings. And I found many works to be helpful with showing the body of life. Martinez varies in works of age for instance she does portraits of children and adults and you can note that these people are personable in the way they are drawn with varying details about them.
