Blog 9: Thanksgiving 2015

This was an incredible week, because of the Thanksgiving holiday and black Friday. Despite having to still do a little bit of studying, it was great to have this little break to recharge my brain. This year for thanksgiving, my girlfriend and I went up to Quartz Hill in the Antelope Valley to her step-fathers place. The picture that I do is not that good because I am not an artist, but I tried to illustrate an image showing a Thanksgiving dinner. This image that I drew up in my sketch book shows your normal Thanksgiving table with food and desert on it. I decided to leave the people out because I did not want to butcher the image any more than it was. In the center of the table is a turkey surrounded by two pumpkin pies, bread, and six empty plates. In contrast to the image, there were a lot of people there at the Thanksgiving get together. Prior to serving the food, everyone held hands in a gathered circle and blessed the food. After that was done, every made their own plates and ate around the house and conversed with one another. It was a really nice turn out, none of my family was there, but since I know her step-fathers family, it was nice to catch up with them and tell them about our experience attending UCLA.
