There is currently a representation gap in the art world, where cis-white-male artists recieve the majority of the attention and money in the industry. The Shoutout LA, a subset of the established media group Voyage Group of Magazines, aims to remedy this by granting exposure to artists, businesses, and ideas which deserve more attention. This article aims to introduce Amina Cruz to the broader LA art audience by showcasing examples of her work accompanied by a 2021 interview with the artist herself. Questions about the artists’ creative path, career, and favorite places in her hometown help the reader develop an overview of Cruz’s background and the influences behind her work. The article aims to pique the readers’ interest before directing them towards links to Cruz’s own website and social media.
