Presentation: Favianna Rodriguez



Favianna Rodriguez is an artist, activist and cultural organizer based in Oakland, CA. Her work focused in addressing issues and themes of migration, sexuality, gender, social and environmental justice. She is the executive director or the artist collective Culture Strike. She is a big advocate for the arts. Some of her interests are Anti-War, Education, Environment and Climate, Feminism and Gender, Health, Indigenous Resistance, etc. Favianna was born in the Bay Area from Peruvian Parents. Her work has been influenced by the Chicano Movement and Feminist Art. She has lectured in institutions like UC Santa Cruz, Sanford and Michigan State as well as guest speaker for events like the Women of Color Conference in Berkeley, CA.
