Stencil

I have decided to do my stencil on an airplane and a family cutout. This represents me because my family’s choice of moving to the United States has made me the person I am today. Moving to a different country meant more than just a migration. This meant escaping our previous lives in hopes of pursuing the American dream. Since my family and I are Middle Eastern, we were often discriminated against by the blond, blue-eyed Germans. As a result, my parents were terrified that my sister and I would be declined of future opportunities. My dad left his job as a doctor, and we sold our house. We packed all our bags and decided to leave our lives. However, we never thought that moving to the United States would be so difficult. The language barrier caused my father to not pass his test in order to practice medicine here. My mother had to take English classes and often took my sister and I to her classes since we could not afford a babysitter. After watching my parents struggle, it became my sister’s goal and I to accomplish our dreams in the United States. My sister and I worked hard towards academics. My sister is currently in medical school. I am also applying to medical school this year. I hope my father can witness his dreams through my sister and I since he ruined his career for us. My family is the reason why I work hard to succeed. They are my complete life, and I hope to make them proud here in the United States.
