Week 3: Arlette Lucero

Arlette Lucero is a visual artist located in Denver, Colorado whose art embodies her feelings, desires, and emotions. She enjoys painting beautiful women who are mothers and goddesses of several different cultures. Through the use of vibrant colors, symbolism, and realism she paints powerful icons with qualities that have a deeper religious, political, or cultural meaning. She also creates whimsical masks, sculptures, collages, digital art, mixed media, and photographs with a meaning that is left to be contemplated by the viewer. She has great experience doing commercial art, working with different clients to make company logos, fliers, prints, brochures, catalogs, postcards, advertisements, magazine covers, and more. She loves sharing her creative art skills with all people in her community, especially children. With her passion for art she teaches art to children with different organizations and institutions throughout Denver, Colorado like Escuela de Guadalupe, Journey Through our Heritage, and Voz y Corazon. Arlette Lucero uses a variety of mediums and techniques when creating her own artworks that are for sale at local galleries. She implements her use of different mediums and styles into her school curriculum. When teaching children she has them create a variety of art projects, most often she is called to create a mural with children in elementary schools. She has designed murals at different centers, schools, and group homes. Arlette Lucero has painted a large mural with over thirty portraits at the Escuela de Guadalupe's library called “Compassionate Leadership”. Her dedication stems beyond making art by herself, she enjoys sharing her talents with other people in her community so that they can also be inspired to pursue their creative interests. Her extensive experience as a professional artist has explored many mediums, techniques, and styles of fine art that continue to be implemented into her more recent artworks.
