Extra Credit

Last week I had the honor of participating in the UCLA Undergraduate Scholarship Award Exhibition with my oil on canvas piece titled "First Love".  It was my first time ever displaying my work so I was really nervous, but luckily I knew a couple of the artists in the show. One of these was the ever so talented and stunning Brenda Barrios. Her work was so beautiful and touching as she explained she dedicated this painting to her parents. I also just loved her outfit from that night, she had this sheer cerulean blue dress with corset overtop and cowboy boots. Everything about it was iconic and as she would say "it was fashoon". I also got to see Armando's sculpture in person and it was so fun to walk around and see it from multiple angles. I remember when we dropped off our pieces, Ben, the curator, said that his sculpture had a floral-like element that would look nice with my painting next to it. It was sadly not displayed in that manner, instead, it had its own space to exist and breathe in. The rest of the exhibit was fun to walk through and see. I loved seeing everyone's work.
