In the reading of Chicanx Graphics in the Digital Age by Claudia E. Zapata, it talks about the introduction of technological advances that have allowed another resourceful source for producing arts. It has allowed for there to be an additional form to bring forth the creation and allows an easier way to spread different artworks that may contain important messages to various communities. This emergence of this new method was concerning for some artists because they believed that it would replace and have the traditional ways of creating art in risk of dying out, this was a point of view that the artist Rupert Garcia withheld. However, eventually he changed his point of view and saw it as a way to enhance and reinforce messages, to create them with a stronger foundation. Gracia withheld this point of view until he came to a realization, which was that technology helped emphasize and strengthen in amplifying the messages that artworks may contain. That just because technology was beginning to be incorporated onto this medium, it did not mean that the older ways in which they were originally created were in danger of being erased. The resourcefulness of digital tools can be seen through the work of Barbara Carrasco as she formed part of a program that permitted her to create her piece called Pesticides!, which depicted an animation that was inspired by the United Farm Workers (UFW). It brought into perspective the dangers and risks that come along with the pesticides used in agriculture. This animation helped spread the message across and brought awareness to the situation, therefore showing the resourcefulness and benefits of incorporating technology into the art world.
